The summit resumes after two years without a physical salon. Now, the Watches and Wonders has another opportunity to interact with people face-to-face again.

Watches and Wonders is delighted to announce the dates of its next salon, which will be held physically in Geneva, from March 30 to April 5, 2022.

This is due to the summit taking place online and in person between March 30 to April 5.

The 2022 edition is the largest salon they have ever organized with almost 40 brands. This is according to Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie external affairs director and watchmaking expert Pascal Ravessoud.

“We’re starting to see I think luxury in perhaps a more evolved way than before. That’s really gonna play out in how we see the products have been launched. The way they have been communicated about,” WorldTempus editor-in-chief Suzanne Wong said.

Watchmaking trainer and consultant Gianfranco Ritschel added that the latest trend is looking deeper into where the materials are coming from. “Going behind that, in fact, that would be a big question. It would be really interesting to have a look at that.”

Ritschel personally looks forward to the most complex watch of the year and the main color followed by all the brands.

Here are some of the gem-colored watches that caught our eye so far during the Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022.

TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma

The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma has Diamant d’Avant-Garde lab-grown diamonds set in the 44-millimeter case. The timepiece features embellished indexes and a diamond effect on the polycrystalline dial plate to seal the design.

Cartier Libre

The Cartier Libre jewelry watch is entirely reversible. Consequently, it doubles as a watch on the front and as a bracelet on the back. The geometric approach to the jewelry motif uses a new triangular setting developed by Cartier, allowing the diamonds to be directly integrated into the case without the need for the traditional grain setting.

Rebellion Timepieces Predator S Rainbow Inner Spectrum

The Rebellion Timepieces Predator S Rainbow Inner Spectrum is multicolored with 102 baguette-cut sapphires to complete its bezel and dial. The sapphires contrast with the case made in rose gold with the hour and minute hands further coated in luminescent material.

Purnell Escape II Unique Absolute Sapphire “Hancock Red”

The Purnell Escape II Unique Absolute Sapphire “Hancock Red” continues the collection, now with red diamonds. It features a domed top crystal sapphire perpendicular at 6 o’clock.

Charles Girardier Magic 8

The Charles Girardier Magic 8 stands out with its dial to literally reflect its name. The design choice is a kinetic composition that creates an “eternal motion” on the magic 8 dial. The case is made of titanium and a silver plate serves as base, while the dial comes in cobalt blue and emerald green.

Ulysse Nardin Freak X Aventurine

The Ulysse Nardin Freak X Aventurine is enclosed in a titanium and rose gold case with sapphire glass and a blue dial. The limited-edition only has 99 pieces made available.

Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Blue

The Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Blue literally introduces the said hue to the newest version of the brand’s emblematic model. A gradient blue opaline dial complements the powder gray painted minute track and light blue numerals, along with white gold indices and hour, minute, and second hands.

Czapek & Cie Antarctique S

The Czapek & Cie Antarctique S comes with a choice of three dials, including drake glacier blue, salmon, and osmium. These atypical colors match with different textures to serve as the foundation for sculptured indexes that boast creativity and detail.
