China releases long-awaited top level climate policy document

BEIJING – China has released a top-level climate policy document, a long-awaited move that analysts say paves the way for local governments and various sectors to come up with detailed plans to meet the country’s climate targets.

The targets include relying on non-fossil fuel sources for 80 per cent of the country’s electricity production by 2060 and the formulation of a law on carbon neutrality.
