With its gentle rolling vineyards, lush redwood forests and tranquil meadows, Napa Valley is one of the most beautiful wine-growing regions in the world. Of course, the area is already home to an array of super-exclusive boutique hotels and resorts so for a new property to capture our attention it needs to be truly special. Enter Auberge Resorts Collection, Stanly Ranch.

Set within 700 acres of sprawling vineyards and ranch land, the hotel giant’s latest outpost is framed by 2.5 miles of the Napa River close to the San Pablo Bay Estuary. The property is linked to hundreds of biking and hiking trails making it the perfect setting from which to explore California’s Wine Country.

“Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection is an active resort that holds immense appeal for visitors and the local community alike,” said general manager, Ed Gannon. “It sits at the gateway of both Napa and Sonoma Valleys and enjoys proximity to the coast and the city. We couldn’t be more excited to open this new resort that has been brought to life with years of thoughtful planning. With the opening of Stanly Ranch, we will be leading the way for the new Napa.”

Auberge Resorts Collection’s latest destination takes its name from Judge Edward Stanly who founded the historic ranch back in 1856. The resort features 135 immaculate cottages and guest rooms all boasting stunning scenic views of the surrounding countryside.

The one- and two-bedroom Arbor Cottages, Acre Rooms and Rambler Rooms include separate living areas and private terraces for al fresco dining, while the spectacular three-bedroom Palomino Suite sleeps up to eight guests with sweeping vistas of the vineyards.

All the accommodation has been designed with breezy, minimalist interiors reminiscent of a modern farmhouse. The rooms are decorated in a neutral color palette with plenty of natural oak, black metal and leather. Indoor and outdoor spaces are effortlessly blended with floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors opening onto the spacious terraces.

Of course, Halehouse features all the amenities you would expect from a luxurious resort (and more) including a spa pool, cold plunge bath, cedar sauna and salt room. And, back at your cottage, you’ll find yoga mats, meditation cushions and Theragun massage devices to ensure total relaxation.

When it comes to food, you’re in safe hands at Stanly Ranch. The resort prides itself on its sustainably sourced, seasonal menus that make full use of ingredients from the on-site farm and working ranch.

There are three eateries to choose from, helmed by talented executive chef, Garrison Price. At Bear, you’ll find a constantly rotating menu centered around a single ingredient. The modern dishes are as tasty as they are beautiful, playing with form, texture and innovative fermentation techniques.

For something a bit more casual, head to Gavel, a bustling all-day coffee bar where you can pick up freshly baked pastries and pantry staples. And, in the evening, watch the sunset by the pool at the stylish Basin Bar. Set within an idyllic lavender-scented grove, it’s the ideal setting to while away a few hours with a cocktail and selection of moreish snacks.

Stanly Ranch joins Auberge du Soleil and Solage as the hospitality giant’s third property in Napa Valley. Further north, Auberge’s Castiloga Ranch was forced to close its doors after suffering extensive damage during Glass Fire in 2020.
